Cinemagraphs are still photographs in which a minor and repeated movement occurs, forming a video clip. Many attribute the dawn of the cinemagraph medium to Fashion Week 2011 in New York City. It was then that a pair of fashion photographers — Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg — began crafting and sharing a series of moving photos. Without an adequate term to describe these creative images, the photographers coined a new phrase. And just like that, the term “cinemagraph” was born…

I’ve been experimenting in this exciting new medium since 2017. My cinemagraphs have been featured throughout the Austin Bergstrom International Airport. They have also been included in juried exhibitions and public art installations, film festivals, the digital issue of the Summer 2020 NARM Quarterly and physician waiting rooms.
