DESCRIPTION:Presented by Austin Arts\, Culture\, Music and Entertainment (ACME) Art in Public Places\, the People’s Gallery 2026 exhibition showcases the work of over 105 talented local artists from across the Greater Austin area. Guests will experience an inspiring collection of paintings\, sculptures\, drawings\, and other works of art throughout the iconic spaces of Austin City Hall. \nAdmission is free and open to the public. \nCast Your Vote for the People’s Choice\nStarting with the opening reception\, visitors can vote for their favorite artwork in the exhibition. The artwork receiving the most votes will be considered for purchase and addition to the City of Austin’s permanent art collection as the People’s Choice. \nVoting will be available from October 2\, 2026\, through October 1\, 2027. \nAbout the People’s Gallery\nHeld every two years\, the People’s Gallery showcases the diverse work of regional artists while highlighting the unique architecture and dynamic public spaces of Austin City Hall. For the 2026 exhibition\, approximately 250 local artists applied\, with 105 artists selected by a panel of arts professionals\, including Georgina Treviño\, Nina Q. Ho\, and Moyosore Okediji. We also welcome artists from Imagine Art and Artly World\, highlighting the impact of art on our community. \nThe exhibition will remain on display at Austin City Hall through May 26\, 2028. \nLimited paid parking is available in the City Hall garage. Visitors are encouraged to walk\, bike\, and use public transportation. \nFor accessibility accommodations or reasonable modifications\, please contact the City of Austin.

Open Canopy allows you to step into their creative sanctuaries\, offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at their artistic process. This is your chance to explore their inspiration\, techniques\, and passion for their craft. \nArt aficionados will find a diverse range of original artwork available for purchase\, and many artists are open to accepting commissions\, allowing you to bring your unique vision to life through their talents. \nSince its launch in August 2021\, Open Canopy routinely welcomes an astonishing 200 plus visitors at each event. We’re thrilled to continue introducing new art enthusiasts to the wonder of Canopy and the broader Austin creative scene. \nIn addition to artist studios\, Canopy houses the Ivester Gallery and ICOSA Gallery\, creating an immersive art experience that extends beyond the studios. After a captivating artistic journey\, visitors can relax at Sa Ten\, where they can enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat. \nCanopy is a vibrant\, redeveloped East Austin warehouse\, transformed into a creative community.
